I specialise in product photography for artists, designers and makers, providing high quality images for catalogues, brochures, postcards, magazines, competition and exhibition entries, portfolios and websites.
Based in St Austell, Cornwall, I welcome clients coming to the studio to deliver work and also in assisting with the shoot, especially if you have a particular 'look' you want to achieve. I also photograph on location, so if you have items that are too large or delicate to move, have an installation to photograph or you would just rather I came to you, this is easily arranged.
Experience of working at an art gallery, a pottery and in a newspaper photography department has given me a unique insight into what is required of good product photography.
I've been photographing artwork for the last 10 years, initially for a commercial gallery then on a freelance basis which has given me the experience and knowledge to produce images for reproductions that are highly colour accurate.
I have a love of ceramics and enjoy the challenge of capturing the 'character' of a pot, photographing groups of pots often brings the pieces to life, different textures, colours, shapes and sizes all combine to add dynamism to a shot.
Product photography is all about adding value, making an object look as good as possible to a potential customer, clearly stating what the product is and what it does.
